After three years of silence, the Haitian band Djakout #1 announces their return with a concert scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Oceanside Events Center in Revere, Massachusetts. The announcement was made via a post on their social media dated July 18, 2025. “The wait is over!”: this is the opening phrase of the band’s official message, confirming their return to the stage. The band, considered one of the important figures of Haitian compas, thus ends a period marked by the absence of recording projects, concerts, and tours.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          In their message, the musicians specify that this return will take place live at the Oceanside Events Center. The published text evokes an unforgettable evening filled with non-stop dancing, vibrant rhythms, and an unforgettable atmosphere.” While the terms are promotional, Djakout #1’s return is generating interest due to the changes that have taken place within the group in recent years and their prolonged withdrawal from the stage.

Since 2022, the group had kept a low profile. No new musical production had been announced, and public appearances had become rare. This return therefore marks a milestone for fans, who see it as a sign of continuity despite the transformations.

On social media, reactions were swift: “The group will soon be back on stage,” wrote one user, while another said, “Welcome back.” The choice of Revere, in the Boston area, for this first concert is not insignificant. The city and its surrounding area are home to a large Haitian community. The chosen venue, the Oceanside Events Center—formerly known as the Wonderland Ballroom—is also well known to audiences in the diaspora.

A second date has already been announced: Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The band will perform this time at Revolution Live, located at 100 SW 3rd Ave. In this new announcement, the tone is more familiar and filled with emotion: “Djaz peyi a pral mete dife nan Fort Lauderdale pou yon sware inoubliyab. Sa fè lontan ke nou pat fè kè fanatik #1 yo kontan epi nap fè sa an gran jan.”

Tension boiling in HMI

Tension has reached new heights between Ritchy, Roberto Martino and Ti-Joe Zenny after Ritchy did a pre-recorded video to reply to Reynaldo's interview where Rey admitted to deliberately short circuit Klass causing audio problems so the band can't perform. In the video, Ritchy also clapped back at TiJoe for his comment regarding Diaspora bands not being allowed to perform in Haiti. Everything started with TiJoe's public stance during a Klass […]
