Following the spread of rumors on social media regarding the alleged deportation of musician Hervé Anténor, alias Shabba, he was keen to clarify the situation. On his WhatsApp status, the percussionist and founder of the group EKIP posted an explicit message, accompanied by a photo illustrating his trip: “I returned to my country on Friday, August 28, but look how I traveled: first class, good food, Champagne please, is that what a deported person looks like…”
The artist returned to Haiti of his own free will and without any trouble, as his legal status is secured by a work visa extension valid until September 8, 2026. This trip is part of the preparations for EKIP’s upcoming album, a project highly anticipated by fans. This new opus promises innovations, notably the integration of two new singers, D-singer and Eminix, who will bring new sounds and a renewed dynamic to the group. Additionally, three musicians from the group have already obtained American residency and will join the team in Haiti.
